Nosara

Nosara is Del Mar Adventure’s home base. Also known as Playa Guiones, Nosara is located in Guanacaste, a very special province of Costa Rica. It is known to be the best place to visit within the country. Located on the northwestern side of the country, it borders the Pacific coast, and travelers around the world come to experience the pristine beaches and abundant, biodiverse parkland throughout the province. Guanacaste is unique for its dryer, tropical climate, though it does still have its rainy season, it is the driest province in the country, which means more beach time and jungle adventures!

Primitive roads leading to Nosara keep this small town feeling remote, yet the town boasts plenty of modern amenities. This magical beach town is a vacation oasis that catalyzes incredible learning experiences, memorable adventures, and deep rest and relaxation. It has a strong surf, yoga, and wellness culture, an eco-minded community, houses hundreds of families raising their children within nature -- the greatest teacher of all -- and acres of protected forests and wildlife. Nosara has a "Tranquillo" atmosphere that embraces everyone! It's the perfect place for those who want to get away, and tune into themselves, nature and activities.

Nosara locals are proud of the Nosara Civic Association which has been at the heart of the Nosara community since its foundation in 1975, with the purpose of protecting and conserving the environment for a sustainable future. This refuge has been a place for the injured, displaced, and orphaned wildlife from Nosara and the Nicoya Peninsula region of Costa Rica. 

The NCA owns and protects 240 hectares for conservation, maintaining 12 km of trails that connect different points in Nosara. This with the intention to give locals and visitors routes that promote walks and the use of bicycles within the community, thus reducing the carbon footprint. Thanks to this program, the NCA has managed to conserve the biodiversity that makes Nosara a unique coastal community, with patches of forest that connect with the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge.
